Hi there! My name is Colette Hannahan and I'm a painter from Minnesota, now based in San Francisco.
Painting the landscapes and skyscapes of the places I travel to and the neighborhoods I live in reminds me that connecting with nature, color, and the people around me is sacred --- and, I'm realizing, an antidote to my general fear of living a human life. No biggie.
Over the past 21 years, I’ve lived in eight San Francisco neighborhoods. Now in The Outer Richmond, I’ve been painting the views from my walks around Sutro Park, Lands End, Golden Gate Park, and Ocean Beach. I've been trying to capture the way the light changes the colors of the fog and clouds moving through the neighborhood during the day and the wallop of awe I feel.
I paint open skies with slices of land or city, like they're all humming in unison. And whoever is looking at the painting is the human element in the landscape --- hopefully experiencing a moment and stillness.
To the right are some available original paintings and giclée prints stretched on canvas. Please let me know if you'd like to see them at my studio, see more photos, or have them shipped to you.
Take a look here for upcoming shows, workshops, and retreats. And here for archival prints on paper.
Thanks for stopping by!
